Progressive leaders agree: Re-Elect Jared Nieuwenhuis to the Bellevue City Council

The Seattle Times recently joined progressive leaders and organizations in endorsing Jared Nieuwenhuis’ re-election campaign to the Bellevue City Council. The Times recently said, “Jared Nieuwenhuis has the kind of community volunteer and service record that demonstrates his strong commitment to the city of Bellevue. Voters should reelect him to Council Position 4.”

Jared’s endorsements range from the LiUna Local 242 Labor Union, which represents thousands of workers across King County and Washington State, to the Humane Voters of Washington who work to stop the abuse of our four legged friends, and Washington Bikes who represent the interest of bicyclists across our state.

They are joined by progressive leaders like Representative Amy Walen (Democrat), Bellevue Mayor Lynne Robinson, Burien Mayor Jimmy Matta, Mercer Island Deputy Mayor Wendy Weiker, and Kirkland Councilmember Jon Pascal.

These progressive leaders and organizations understand Jared’s commitment to Bellevue and seeing our city thrive in an equitable and sustainable way. It takes someone with a passion to lead and a willingness to work across the aisle to get this done. As the Seattle Times noted in their endorsement of Jared’s re-election campaign, Ruth Lipscomb is running, “because no one was running against him.” This lack of passion and commitment to our great city is not what our city needs during such a pivotal time in our city’s history.

Jared’s commitment to bring everyone to the table and engage our residents on important city matters is a commitment we need from Bellevue’s elected officials.
